Job Overview:
PayPay, a leading Japanese FinTech company, is looking for a Senior Data Science Engineer or Senior Machine Learning Engineer. You will work with the Data Insights team to build machine learning models that improve PayPay products and help understand consumer and merchant behavior.
Location: Anywhere in Japan (Remote OK)

What you will do:
- Design, build, and maintain machine learning models to make recommendations, predictions, and detect fraud.
- Analyze and visualize customer and merchant data to provide actionable insights.
- Work with data engineers, product managers, and other teams to build robust production systems.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, machine learning, mathematics, statistics, economics, physics, or similar.
- Strong English communication skills.
- 5+ years of experience in data science or machine learning.
- Experience with Python and SQL.
Preferred:
- Masters or PhD in a related field
- 7+ years of experience
- Big Data tools such as Spark, Hadoop, AWS Redshift, or Kafka
- Deep learning, NLP, recommendation system experience
- AWS, Databricks, Snowflake experience
- Ability to run A/B testing
